Berlinetta - The Digital Camaro

---- Unlike many other Camaro web sites; this one will focus on one type of Third Generation Camaro; the Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta ! The Berlinetta was originally introduced with a second generation body-style in 1979 and was produced until mid-year of 1986. Chevrolet already dominated in the performance market with the Z28 & decided to target the luxury market with the Berlinetta by installing an upgrade interior, complete gauge package, smooth riding suspension, and long option code stickers on the console pad of these unique Camaros.

---- The 'Starship Camaro' Berlinetta was only offered during the 1984, 1985, & 1986 model years. It's concept was initially developed by A GM designer named Nelly Toledo in 1981 and included telescoping control pods and a free standing, rotating, Cassette Player with Equalizer. This cockpit design was radical and achieved it's purpose of merging the latest digital technology with aero-space inspired ergonomic controls. A Camaro Berlinetta has many hidden features that were years ahead of it's time & most *Regular* Camaro owners never even got the chance to experience !!

Latest Update : 09-27-08: It's already Fall !! This summer really flew by this year - probably the result of so much working on these cars again !! I'm currently driving last seasons project and expect to put it up for sale soon. Check out the "My Camaro Pics" page for some pictures of the 55 Berlinetta conversion ! Since that Project is complete - there is already another one underway.......... This one is an 86 IROC Z28. I bought the car with a complete body with major paint problems but it's got good metal to work with. The car was a "complete" car when it was purchased but it was 5 colors and the interior was rotten from sitting for so long. ( Here we go again ! )

My Berlinetta treated me pretty good this season and the only real problem was a hole that developed in my radiator. No Big Deal ! It's restoration is about 6 years old now and it's got a few scars on it now - but still turns heads from ( People can HEAR it before they can SEE it !!! ) My 95Z is also still kicking,....... The Odometer turned 79,000 this month and it's still treating me VERY well !

There have been some minor updates to the site in the PARTS and MY PICS sections of the web site. I hope to be able to add more content to the TECH & MEDIA areas soon,........ I just need to put away my wrenches first !! Have a Safe and Sane Fall/Winter of 08 !!

Last Update : 01-30-08: WINTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're just past the halfway point of the 07/08 winter..... Can't come soon enough in my opinion ! The cold weather is a real drag on any restoration or upgrade projects and I can't wait for the Spring to arrive ! My Rides are treating me good over the winter with no major crisis's to deal with ! Still have a lot of upgrades in mind but really need warmer weather before getting to involved in them ! The most significant project underway right now is a 1985 Camaro Berlinetta conversion to a "regular" Camaro analog system. The car is also getting a power plant upgrade from a stock 2.8 MPFI engine to a more worthy small block 305ci V8. The set-up will be mostly stock since there's already so much involved in this process !!

This website is undergoing some major changes in many ways over the next few weeks. Hopefully they do not cause much grief. This is mainly an attempt to gain access to more storage space so the site can be enhanced and updated more frequently. As for the " Parts For Sale" section; it has expended a bit and there is more to come. Iif you have a need for ANY Camaro or FireBird parts - Send a detailed request and I'll see if I have it available !!

Testing Service For Berlinetta Parts !!!

I am now testing Camaro Berlinetta Electronics. This Testing Service is in an attempt to diagnose problem parts early --> before you buy the wrong part !! Most Mechanics don't have a clue how to diagnose the bugs in the complex Berlinetta electrical system and often pass BAD information to people after a 2 minute evaluation. My Testing Service will positively identify ANY problem in ANY Berlinetta part that I test.. NO MORE GUESSING which part you need to replace !!

Camaro Berlinetta Wiring Diagrams on CD !!!

The "Camaro Berlinetta Electrical Diagnosis" CD has been completed and is available for sale for a very reasonable fee. This CD contains the electrical diagnosis diagrams for the 1985 Camaro Berlinetta - Coupe - Z28 & IROC-Z cars. The CD is specific to the 1985 model year but most of the diagrams can be used to troubleshoot problems in any 82-92 F-Body car ! Please see the Web Link below for more details. I've also added extras to this CD over it's original design. The CD was intended to be an aid for Berlinetta owners to assist them in any electrical issues they might have.
