Back Ground
This was my first ThirdGen Camaro.  It was bought in 1992 for $2500 with 74000 original miles on a completely stock Camaro Berlinetta. It has undergone MANY changes over the years and continues to be the car I thrive to drive as often as I can !  Just after rolling over 100K the car got it's first MAJOR overhaul with the installation of a 350HP 355ci ( built by Golens Engine Service ). That was back around 99 and the car became a "seasonal" car at that time.  I then added a 9-Bolt 3.70 Rear end and a T56 6-speed followed a few seasons later.  The Interior was built slowly over time and the seats were re-covered by a local upholstery shop using NOS fabric over 1984 Duel Trans Am LS Conteur Bucket seats.  ( Rear Seats are factory seats ).

I was able to enjoy a few years  without any significant changes and it was great being able to enjoy the car for the entire season time and time again.  But - as is always the case -  The body took some abuse over the years and it's 10+ Y/O Green / Black Stripe paint needed to be fixed.  (Someone backed into the nose at a gas station and a bad storm blew the cars shelter around causing rear bumper and quarter panel damage. )  Since the car is no longer in service,...... I figured this would be the best time to do some additional mechanical adjustments too while I was at it !

'Mean Green" underwent a HUGE make-over in 2012.  The 355ci Carb engine was pulled and the Engine was converted to a 1995 Camaro Z28 LT1 power plant.  The T56 Tranny was retained, but a 1999 Trans Am  Zexel Torsion POSI rear end was installed.  Not only did  the rear gear get upgraded to 4.11's - but the "LS1" rear end Disk Brakes are a nice compliment to the "LS1 Front Brake upgrade installed a couple years back.

Not only did the car get a drive-train swap - but it also got a complete Paint Job too.  Sadly; the work was FAR from quality and the car will need to be completely re-stripped and re-painted.  The finish has/is blistering due to contamination..... appears to have occurred as water was trapped under the finish possible causes are condensation or thru the equipment.  It's VERY troubling due to the loss of MANY MONTHS of my labor - not to mention the $$ wasted on the Painter and materials,....... but I've got no choice - the car HAS to be re-stripped and re-painted ASAP.
